Greetings, Fellow Moodler! I am Art Lader, a high school German teacher and an elearning/Moodle consultant for Moodlerooms. This is a modest, little web site where we can discuss Moodle. (And here is a BIG web site where you can discuss Moodle with thousands and thousands of Moodlers.) Not familiar with Moodle? No problem. Here is a description of Moodle in three short paragraphs. I hope you enjoy the site. -- Art . | |
Greetings Fellow Moodler,
This one is for site admins.

Greetings, Fellow Moodler,
There are a couple of ways that you can use Moodle for podcasting. The nuts and bolts are not the hard part, though, right? And you have thought enough about this to know why you want your students to podcast, of course. So, what's next?
Beverly Elementary School has been podcasting since 2006. They are not Moodlers (yet!), but they seem to have done a great job of tying podcasting to their curriculum. They even have a podcasting club. Why not check it out at http://www.birmingham.k12.mi.us/Schools/Elementary/Beverly/Media+Center/Podcasts.htm and see if you can borrow a cup of inspiration from them?
I already have.

Greetings, Fellow, Moodler,
Many Moodlers have to deal with Moodle skeptics who insist that Moodle is just not ready for prime time. Sigh... Well, there are many school districts, small and large, that have been Moodling for years, right? Why not send your next naysayer to http://moodle.sandi.net/:
What is Moodle?
Moodle is an open source learning management system (LMS) used by San Diego Unified School District for more than three years to deliver online courses and to supplement traditional face-to-face courses.Read the rest of this topic (158 words)... |

Greetings, Fellow Moodler,
If you have a Smart Board, an Activ Board, an Interwrite Board or another interactive white board, you can almost certainly export whatever appears on that board to a variety of formats like Power Point, Flash and PDF.
What that means, of course, is that you can capture what you are doing on your interactive white board and pop it into Moodle to discuss with your students. Pretty cool, huh?
As an example, I have attached something I captured. I am sure you know what I mean with or without the example, though.
This is also mentioned here - http://ccbits.wordpress.com/2008/02/29/moodling-mindset/

Greetings, Fellow Moodler,
Do you ever wonder how other educators are using Moodle? There are lots of case studies and articles floating around on the Web, of course, and they make for interesting reading.
Here's a nice little example - http://ydr.inyork.com/ci_9353490

Greetings, Fellow Moodler,
If you find that your students are having trouble with the Power Point presentations you upload for them, you might want to consider converting those presentations to Flash. There are lots of ways to do this, of course. One good, free program that will do this for Windows users is authorPOINT Lite. It is one of the few converters that preserves your animations and it "just works."
Give it a try and see what you think.
